Firefighting is a demanding community service. On May 31, 2013 one of our Houston professional firefighters, Robert Garner, perished in a hotel fire along with three others, setting an example of service, courage, and dedication. A foundation was formed in Robert’s honor and legacy, dedicated to encourage, mentor, and prepare future men and women to serve their community and secure a profession of pride as a first responder…an opportunity they may not otherwise have due to lack of family dynamics or income.

The Robert Garner Firefighter Foundation currently has partnerships in place with Houston Independent School District, Fort Bend Independent School District, Houston Community College, and Lone Star College to facilitate achieving the goal of inspiring and educating today’s youth to be tomorrow’s public servants.

We are extremely excited and thank many of those who have provided discounted services or made in-kind commitments to the evening’s grandeur to-date: Phillips 66, The Houston Fire Museum, Houston Astros, Helfman Auto Group, Aramark, DHI Telecom, Karbach Brewery co. and various Silent Auction sponsorships. Along with a latte bar, live music and dancing, the big feature of the evening is a Big Board Auction of a custom fire-engine-red Harley Davidson motorcycle exclusively donated by Stubbs Cycles-Houston.
